The removal of stitches is an outpatient service that can be performed by the surgeon or nurse and consists of the removal of stitches affixed after a surgical procedure (surgical wound) or to close a wound due to impact or blunt objects (lacerated contusion wound).
Suture removal occurs 7 to 15 days after stitches are applied.
In case the patient prefers, the General Practitioner can also be consulted for the removal of stitches.
